Carpenter / Apprentice w/ Accommodations for Saltspring Project

We are a Victoria based custom home contractor looking for qualified carpenters to join our team for an upcoming build on Saltspring Island. The project is a marquee build for our business and requires highly skilled on site staff to execute at a high level. As Salt Spring is a very tough place to find rental housing we are offering on-site accommodations in the form of all-season travel trailers for those who are interested and able to make the move to the island for the length of the project (approx 16 months). Live rent free for a year and save more of your income for the future, or spend 3 nights on site and work 4x 10hrs shifts and have 3 day weekends! Our business focuses primarily on building architecturally distinct and challenging homes that put us at the forefront of craftsmanship and building technology. Each of our projects is unique and requires carpenters with a deep knowledge base and well rounded skill set. Our company culture prioritizes passion and attitude over production. The project location is picturesque with views over the lower gulf islands, Schwartz Bay, Mt. Baker, Vancouver and the Olympic Peninsula. It is a world class project site in every way. The project has a dedicated PM from our company who will be living on site during the project build as well. Ideal Candidate Requirements: 3+ years in carpentry for Custom Homes (for apprentices) 5+ years combined experience in residential construction (for Journeyman) Experience working on Modern Architectural Homes with Registered Architects Knowledge of Passive House, Net Zero and High Performance Building Techniques Passion for Architecture and detailed craftsmanship Skilled Inter-Personal Communicator Resourceful, Creative, Problem Solver Strong Leadership Skills Candidates will be asked to sign a 1 yr agreement as part of the hiring.
