Apprentice is an informal term for the right person who wants to build their career with Trimlight Van Isle. We offer our services everywhere from Nanaimo to Victoria, Sidney to Sooke and everything in between. Our home base is in Langford. The role includes both residential and commercial installations of permanent programmable lighting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor; Ask questions, learn new skills daily and show excitement for advancement; Maintain a clean mouth, worksite, vehicle and shop; Approach each installation as an opportunity to excel; Have a valid drivers licence and clean driver’s abstract Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Excellent safety practices including proficiency with power and manual tools as well as ladders; Positive communication skills with colleagues, customers and potential customers; Basic understanding of tools used for measuring, cutting, installing channel as well as understanding of low voltage electrical; Must be prepared to work in variety of weather as installations are outdoors; Deadlines are important and working safely while at a consistent and expedient pace is necessary. Pay structure will reflect safe practices and proficiency; Teamwork is necessary and the ability to problem solve and take initiative is going to accelerate progression; Must verify no criminal record related to fraud, theft, etc. Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the tasks necessary to professionally install Trimlight patented products; Loading and unloading ladders, setting up ladders, climbing ladders and working from ladders safely and with utmost care for vehicles, homes, businesses, etc.; Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the phone and to customers in person; Must be able to work full shifts completing installations.
