Early Childhood Educator - Team Lead

Cathedral School Childcare and Jr. Kindergarten is accepting applications from qualified Early Childhood Educators for the full-time position of Lead Educator at our Gordon Head location. The successful candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic about children’s learning and be a creative problem solver who is flexible and demonstrates a deep caring for all children. Job Summary: The Team Lead assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the Child Care Centre. He or she is responsible for program planning, working effectively with staff, families and children, connecting with the community, mentoring students, recording appropriate documentation, maintaining current files, developing their teams’ skills, and providing leadership. Requirements: • Current Early Childhood Education License to Practice in BC. • Emergency Child Care First Aid Certified. • Evidence that you have complied with the province’s immunization and tuberculosis control programs. • Excellent verbal communication skills • Ability to work very well in team settings • Ability to coach and support the growth and development of other Educators • Ability to appreciate diversity, different opinions, lived experiences, backgrounds, and personality types • Dependable, professional, and possessing a positive work attitude • Flexible to work shifts falling between 7:15-5:00 Working Conditions: • Ability to lift and move chairs, mats, etc. (up to 30lbs) • Ability to work positively in a busy and loud environment • Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions • Ability to stand for long periods of time, run occasionally, crouch and bend Start Date: • Flexible between September 20th- October 4th, 2021 Wage and Benefits of working for CCCJK: • $22-$24/ hr dependent on experience and qualifications • Eligible ECEs are able to participate in the current Wage Enhancement Program • Comprehensive Benefits including Dental • Facility has its own cleaner, not you!
