Accountants are great and I don't know where we would be without them. They save us money, they keep us compliant, and they keep the tax man away. But what they are not...is Bookkeepers. A Bookkeeper/Controller is in the trenches, sorting out the problems and putting out fires. They are getting stuff done on time and they are getting it done right. Most (not all) accounting offices are providing you basic bookkeeping services from a student fresh out of school. And they do the bookkeeping from the perspective of filing the taxes. I do bookkeeping that also provides the accountants with a clear financial picture, however it also provides the business owner those little extra details that a student fresh out of school has not learned yet. I am invested in your business as much as you are. Because I too am a small business owner and I know your needs! I am also not looking after 30 different clients. My preferred client needs at least 10 hours a week of bookkeeping and I keep my client base small and homed in on my owner's needs.
