Canada, BC, and Victoria specifically are experiencing a labor shortage right now. We are an employer that grasps the true costs of living in the greater Victoria area in 2021. Consider Oakstead Tree and Property Care: Whether you're already working in landscaping, horticulture, or arboriculture, or simply interested in exploring any of these career paths, Oakstead is looking to expand its existing team of 7, to 10. There is upward room in our company to grow, and we strive to remove roadblocks to our employees education and personal advancement. We work residential, commercial, and government sites, providing a combination of landscaping, horticultural, and arboricultural work. Requirements: 1. Physically fit: This is fairly demanding work, and we work hard every day. If your body is unsuited for physical labor (ex. previous injury, unfit, etc) this is not the job for you. 2. Physically healthy: This is fairly demanding work, conducted under sometimes dusty/stinky, damp/dry, sunny/rainy conditions. If you have underlying healthy conditions that may become triggered in the field (ex. asthma, allergies, etc), this is not the job for you. 3. Mentally Resilient: You must be self-driven, you must be able to adapt to changing conditions and work. If you suffer from phobias, or mental conditions that may become triggered in the field (Spiders, Manure, Heights, Social-Anxiety, etc), this is not the job for you. 4. Socially Polite: We work with clients, colleagues, and sub-contractors from around the world, with all types of cultural, political and religious beliefs. Polite and respectful is mandatory. Our Fantasy: Oakstead is a family business in its 6th year - our goal is a larger company, specializing in greenscaping, wildscaping, and environmental restoration.
