Join the Comtech Team! Comtech Systems Inc. develops and supports Collect!, a proprietary software application built for the accounts receivable and third-party collection industries. Collect! is sold globally with concentration in North America and Australia. Collect! users include companies with several agents to hundreds of agents using the software simultaneously. Head office provides marketing for global sales, and manages sales for North America and any areas not managed by a regional representative. Job Summary The Marketing and Sales Manager is a new position intended to concentrate marketing and sales leadership and execution in one person at head office. The new Marketing and Sales Manager will be the public ‘face’ of Collect! at an annual industry event and at the forefront of building an excellent, growing marketing and sales department for a small software company positioned for expansion. The Marketing and Sales Manager will refine the outbound marketing plan, communication materials, attend industry events, refine the sales process, manage the sales pipeline and oversee additional staff once volume indicates further hiring. The Marketing and Sales Manager is involved in decisions through participation in Management Team meetings. The Marketing and Sales Manager communicates with all other managers in the company: operations, office, product management, support and works with all as needed. Our ideal candidate has had relevant experience with a larger software or technology company where they experienced the development and use of current marketing tools, were aware of a marketing budget, participated in industry events and kept themselves informed of trends in the industry. Our ideal candidate has sales experience and some knowledge of value-based selling. Our ideal candidate is personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Key Responsibilities Marketing • Familiarize with and stay abreast of changes in the industry • Explore and consider use of outbound marketing methods and vehicles • Develop and execute an outbound marketing plan within budget • Refine and develop communication materials • Be Collect!’s face to the industry by participating in very select industry events • Use available tools such as Google Analytics to understand and improve customer journey Sales • Receive inbound sales calls and information on application download requests • Use Collect! In-House as prospect tracking CRM • Demonstrate software product to prospects • Use standard discovery and value-based sales methods to lead suitable prospects to closing • Use company sales & discovery process to maximize chance of smooth onboarding • Attend industry event(s) for leads, other contacts and additional industry learning (currently 1 per year in the US) Supervision • Be involved with hiring additional sales staff should volume require • Train and oversee additional sales staff once hired Management • Participate in monthly management meetings • Engage with other managers in reviews and discussions • Work collaboratively with other managers for efficiency and growth Education and Experience • Experience working in marketing and sales of technical product • Experience communicating and working in a team environment • Experience with computer applications • Experience in software sales a major asset • Experience in finance, accounts receivable or collections a major asset • Degree in commerce or marketing an asset Additional Information • Job Type: Full-Time • Location: Langford, BC • Experience Level: Intermediate • Compensation: Salary + Commission + Participation in Profit Share Please email your resume and cover letter to hr at collect dot org or apply via the platform.
