Beauty Reclaimed ~ Recycling and Artistry Total proceeds from the sale of these cards goes to the Canadian Foundation for the Children of Haiti (cfchcanada.ca). Over the last fourteen years, more than 7,100 cards have been made. Approximately 500 are currently available, both all-occasion and Christmas, and new cards are being assembled continually. Each card is unique; as far as can be ascertained, there have been no exact duplicates produced to date. These blank cards and mini-notebooks (75 cents each, 3/$2), as well as gift tags/labels (50 cent to $1 each, some with little envelopes) and bookmarks, are made of materials that would normally be assigned to recycling: used cards, calendars, advertising brochures, envelopes, old photos, variety of coloured papers, etc. Costs range from 50 cents to $3.50. A group of 3" x 3" cards with envelopes cost $1.50 each. There are also 3" x 3" (and 2 7/8" x 2 7/8") gift cards without envelopes; could be put as is on gift or could use a string (hole punched on the back half of each card, not visible from front). These attractive cards have a variety of small objects glued on the front. [photo 4] Cost is $1.50 each or 4 for $5. There is a large selection of Christmas cards, both regular size and miniature, and tags; tags and little cards are 50 cents each or 5/$2. Someone who has purchased these cards commented, "I feel as if I am in an art gallery" -- an appropriate comment given that the cards display the work of hundreds of artists. Cards may be ordered for free delivery (within Victoria; $25 minimum order). A selection of several cards would make an attractive gift.
