Eat delicious food and support our local restaurants! image

Did you know that Victoria, BC has the second-highest number of restaurants per capita in North America? We want to keep our restaurant industry vibrant so they need our support during this period under the latest provincial health orders.

Rallying together to support our local restaurants and their staff is important for our community right now! So let’s keep our restaurant industry going by ordering delivery, getting takeout, and hitting the patios!

Here are some of the great initiatives around Victoria to support our local restaurants:

1. Downtown Delivers – Downtown Victoria Business Association (DVBA)

The DVBA partnered with local food delivery service Tutti to offer free local deliveries from select downtown restaurants!

Act quickly because this offer is only valid until April 19. You can learn more about this fantastic initiative by visiting https://downtownvictoria.ca/downtown-delivers/

2. Takeout Challenge – The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce

Tag your favourite restaurant and two friends on one of the Chamber’s Takeout Challenge social media posts for your chance to win one of four $100 gift cards to Tutti or Lucky To Go!

Take a photo enjoying takeout from your favourite restaurant, tag the Chamber, and use the hashtag #ChamberLocalVicBC for five additional entries!

Winners will be announced on April 26 in the Chamber Events newsletter.

3. VictoriaPatios.ca

This new website was recently created to help make finding a patio to relax on that much easier. You can check out this great resource here: https://victoriapatios.ca/

And who knows, you might just find your new favourite patio spot in the process!

Just remember to stay local and go with your household bubble. Together, we can all keep our restaurants open and eat some delicious food in the process!

So let someone else do the cooking tonight!

Join the MS Walk – May 30

Multiple sclerosis is Canada’s disease with over 90,000 Canadians living with MS and 12 people being diagnosed each day.  While we can’t gather in person to support the MS community, we can still act.  This year’s MS Walk will be a virtual nationwide event encouraging you and members of your household to move forward together–your way.

Join thousands of Canadians moving forward together to support the MS community on World MS Day, Sunday, May 30, through a live-stream event. You can participate in MS Walk by walking in your own backyard, around your block, setting a month long walk challenge or virtually in any way that works for you! There will be opportunity for individuals to plan and host your own celebrations on May 30 or throughout the month of May as long as you follow COVID guidelines for in-person gatherings in your community.  Visit www.mswalks.ca to register or donate today.
