Tsukino-Con is a non-profit, entirely volunteer run organisation that hosts an annual anime, games, and Japanese culture convention at the University of Victoria. The main goal and purpose of the convention is to create an enjoyable experience for attendees to celebrate Japanese animation and culture while also supporting various charities such as Child's Play Charity Hospitals, BC SPCA, and the Uvic Food Bank. The convention is currently seeking a Deputy Volunteer Coordinator staff member. Reporting to the Volunteer Coordinator, the successful candidate will provide and manage recruitment and outreach services for the convention; liase with different convention departments while ensuring adequate volunteer coverage is available; oversees volunteer assignments, scheduling and presenting volunteer orientation sessions; provides reference letters to volunteers, and maintains the volunteer application system. While not required, preference may be given to those who have experience in supervising staff, experience with management and recruitment of volunteers, Microsoft Word/Excel, as well as knowledge of Google forms.
