Harbour House Restaurant is classic fine dining Restaurant located in beautiful inner harbor for 41 years, We are currently looking for line Cooks. We are looking for motivated and creative individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, fun, professional environment. The qualified candidate should have a true passion for food and hospitality with a great attitude plus strong interpersonal skills. Must be reliable, self motivated and have full availability able to work nights, weekend & holidays Will need to have a good understanding of butchery and meat cooking plus 2 years cooking experience in busy kitchens. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be eligible to work in Canada Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language. Valid Foodsafe, cooking school and/or culinary institute education. Strong organizational and leadership skills. High level of creativity, professionalism and quality standards. Strong working knowledge of (cooking techniques, butchering, sauces, dressings, presentations, garde-manger, desserts & pastries) preferred. JOB FUNCTIONS: The ability to follow proper payroll and uniform procedures. The ability to run the day to day operation of an area in the kitchen as well as a station. The ability to distribute work equally to employees. The ability to work closely with standard recipes and plate presentations in order to maintain standards of quality in production and presentation. The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed. The ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized work area. The ability to ensure the quality and timeliness of employee's work in the absence of a Sous Chef. The ability to communicate with the Sous Chefs and the Executive Chef on the performance of all employees and of the work performed. The ability to respond properly in any emergency or safety situation. The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by kitchen or management. The ability to work closely with the sous chef to create specials, come up with new ideas, and execute them. The ability to respect and accommodate the food server regarding all guest requests.
