Old Zeiss tessar lens in m42. It's a tiny all metal construction lens. It mounts to my spotmatic but rear flange hits the mirror. (Pre-slr lens?) Focusing is smooth and the aperture settings are clickless. The tessar design lens is relatively simple,(4 elements in three groups I think.) But produces great images. 4th image shown is from Ansel Adams with a Zeiss Tessar to Contax body. The filter thread is dented and likely will not take a filter but the lens is ressesed so the body may act as a lens hood. The front element has a t coating as opposed to t*. I'm not sure if it makes a difference but it may help identifying the lens. Who do I think this lens is for? Someone with a mirrorless body that wants a lightweight small lens. It has 8 aperture blades so in theory should have neat bokeh but I haven't tested to confirm. Maybe you want to get something close to the 45mm c/y 2.8 Zeiss Tessar performance wise but don't see the need to spend $250.
