Dispatcher for leading Vancouver & Victoria Storage Company UPAK Storage is looking for a Dispatcher to help provide an amazing customer experience and coordinate our fleet of trucks to deliver storage lockers to homes in Victoria & Vancouver region. Your responsibilities will include: Scheduling driver delivery routes/legs Excellent communication with drivers, helping solve problems Providing remarkably better customer experiences via phone calls, emails, and live chats Multi-tasking and navigating through several in-house and off the shelf software programs Monitoring equipment and driver progress throughout the day, watching for factors that might cause delays and taking action to keep team on track when necessary Creating contingency plans and re-arranging routes in order to react to continuously changing circumstances. Utilizing dispatch tools to put together optimum routes Contacting customers via email, phone, or text to set up appointment and successfully get resolution when things go wrong Addressing any irregularities encountered at the delivery site In case of breakdown, arranging for replacement vehicle and towing. Coordinating scheduled maintenance of vehicles. Requirements: 2+ years experience working as a dispatcher in a trucking operation with final mile experience preferred Experience working in a Contact Centre or Customer Care experience, plus an ability to think quickly on one's feet Fast & proven problem-solving skills — we need efficiency and speedy resolutions Excellent English written communication skills — you excel at being concise, clear, and you read your audience to determine the appropriate tone to use Ability to retain/recall processes and product knowledge A strong, clear voice and friendly phone manner Strong Geography Skills in both Victoria and Vancouver Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a high stress environment Willingness to follow up on issues to successful resolution, sometimes answer calls or text after hours Willingness to be flexible with shifts.
