Enjoy your breakfasts in a shaded and private Mediterranean style enclosed grape arbor with your own barbecue or soak up some sun in a separate fern & flower trimmed and secluded private garden with an intimately enclosed hot tub and sun tanning area, private sauna and double shaded sleeping swings (all for two of course) that convert to beds where you can spend your nights under the stars. Very private and locked rear yard surrounded by 15 ft. hedges and 8-9 ft. solid cedar fencing. It’s a 5 min walk to the famous “Galloping Goose Trail” where you can take a 15 min wandering wooded stroll to a scenic waterfront pub style restaurant. There are several options for the use of this home: 1. This four bedroom three bathroom home complete with a rec room, & summer kitchen that opens on to a beautiful Rear Garden; OR… 2. Live on the main floor and rent out the two bedroom . two bathroom suite; OR... 3. Live on the main floor, rent out the suite as one bedroom and use the fourth bedroom as an office with full ensuite bath that has access to the garage but can be separated from the suite; OR... 4. The garage is two stories high and could support a professional office or business, and still remain separate from the rest of the house. (The fourth bedroom was built to sit over the engine hood of my 25 ft limousine); OR... 5. Main floor has been rented as a long term (over 30 day rental BnB) with owner living in the suite. This ended in 2023. Before rules were changed, several years ago, it had been operated as a short term rental with a seven day minimum stay. Booking requests so far in 2024 totaled close to $300,000.00. Location benefits, construction, photographs and garden embellishments are all available in the URL https://www.airbnb.com/h/citycentresecretsurprise. If you were planning on running a BnB, this blurb will be a good starter and I would be more than delighted to help you get started. Parking: Currently, I park my 26 ft. GMC motor home, a custom Harley trailer and a Ford Explorer on the double driveway…garage is still full of shop. Also have residential parking on the street with only four other families on the block so parking is always available. The grape arbor has always been a work in progress (morning coffees, evening teas) with a small pool of gold fish (currently drained and used as a decoration. It could be filled in in an afternoon if you have young children.) The only way to the rear garden without a key is through the house. If you do not want a hot tub, I will gladly take it with me. The sauna is a different matter. However, the electrical unit could be removed and the unit used as a garden shed or whatever; totally waterproof, cedar lined and a perfect change room for the hot tub :)) The rear yard is very comfortable. Only need your birthday suits. Evergreens are approaching 20 feet. I haven’t trimmed them recently but previously have removed a good 10 feet. A couple of covered swings await your talk time, reading or just sleeping. They both make into beds. You can spend the nights under the stars. Fencing is seven to nine feet solid cedar and both gardens are inescapable for even the smallest dog. The rear garden is equipped with its own covered bar and three fridges. Not far from the bar to the hot tub . Everything is covered here and every plant, shrub and tree is on an automatic system where you can forget about having to waste your weekends watering your plants or cutting grass. No grass, and you will forget you are in mid downtown Victoria. Neighborhood: Only 8 neighbors, all great friends and like me, love it here. Very quiet for city center. At 4:30, I play ball with my little four legged friends down the whole block. Every neighbor has a little dog. Every professional and retail service within walking distance; bus service three minutes each direction, famous galloping goose trail three minutes walk, where you can walk or pedal to Sooke or Sidney. Its centered between three of the largest malls in the city and you can walk to the six Silver City Screen theatres. Very easy access to highway one up island and 17 to airport and BC Ferries. Do I like it here? Thirty odd years says something.
