$850 · Room for rent

I have a one bedroom furnished room for $850 monthly all inclusive available immediately in a beautiful 5 bedroom character house near the Mayfair area. A female roommate is preferred to share the upper floor and bathroom with one other. In the past I have rented these two rooms out to foreign exchange students but, things being what they are these days, I'm looking for a longer term arrangement that's more reliable as bills in this large character home can be a little daunting. Rent includes all utilities (sewer, water, CRD fees, hydro, garbage collection, natural gas and high speed wifi). The room comes furnished but I can move things around to accommodate if you have your own stuff. We also have tons of secure storage in the full unfinished basement for bicycles/boxes etc. plus laundry onsite. This big house has a great kitchen (shared) with two refrigerators, gas range, dishwasher and hot water on demand so there are never any cold surprises or line ups while using any of our three bathrooms. There is also a large back deck and good sized yard with a mini orchard perfect for barbecues or gardening opportunities. We are located just a one minute walk to the #8 bus route serving both camosun college campuses as well as the Mayfair and Hillside shopping districts. The #6 Quadra bus is also a stone's throw away for downtown connections or north to Royal Oak and #17 direct to UVIC. I have an 11 year old daughter part time and a dog who share the back of the house with me. We are not afraid of noise and realize a busy house is a happy home. Preference given to longer term stays and people who are accustomed to shared living arrangements. Household chores are shared so you better not be afraid of a mop bucket! Sorry, no couples, room sharing, smoking or pets.
