Metric gauge uses 0.2mm graduations: Veritas 05N38.03 Fractional gauge uses 1/64" graduations: Veritas 05N38.01 both in like-new condition; price for both $54, price for one $28 - both have fine tips (1/32" thick) and measure up to 1-1/8" (or equivalent) thickness - made from hard anodized aluminum - each comes with with hard-shell storage case A taper gauge effectively stretches any scale for accurate reading. These stretch the standard scale by a factor of seven. When a thickness difference of 1/8" is stretched over 7/8" of the scale, small differences in thickness can easily be measured with fine accuracy. The aluminum gauges can be used many ways – for setting fences, router bits and drill-press stops, as well as measuring gaps when you make repairs.
