Meet up daytime at London Drugs on Yates. Since it’s from the 30’s it’s within a few years of “antique” (100 years I think). Very rare to find a complete one now. Cream and brown 2 tone humidor, marked “AONIAN” which was made by Bourne Denby in the 1930’s in England. This is in good condition, complete with lid, sprung three-arm fastener with screw-threaded knob and rubber seal. Very rare to have all the pieces. I have had this for a long time and used it for cookies, I’m not a smoker. It is a family heirloom. It is pottery so it was easy to clean and no tobacco smell since it’s always been kept washed and clean. There is a chip on the underside of the knob of the lid as shown, that happened about 30 years ago, it isn’t sharp, and it cannot be seen from above. Otherwise, no chips, cracks or crazing. Tobacco use was back in the 40’s for it! I checked those online auction sites most are incomplete and a lot more money. On the base it is marked AONIAN MADE IN ENGLAND. There is an impressed letter H which is matched up with one on the lid. The 3-arm spring clip and screw were originally copper coated brass, but the copper is gradually disappearing. I have refrained from frequent cleaning of it as I know it tends to vanish! The rubber sealing ring is a new one with a perfect fit, but I have the original (with a delightful pipe tobacco smell!) stored and sealed in a plastic bag.
