Caracalla, born Lucius Septimius Bassianus, ruled as Roman Emperor from 198 to 217 AD. He is known for granting Roman citizenship to all free inhabitants of the empire through the Antonine Constitution. Caracalla also commissioned the construction of the Baths of Caracalla and was known for his cruel and tyrannical rule, which included massacres and political persecution.
