Adorable porcelain figurine of the Old Woman who Lived in a Shoe based on the artwork of Beatrix Potter. This collectible piece would make a wonderful gift for a Beatrix Potter fan. The figure is hand painted and decorated. 3 3/4” wide; 2 1/2” high In good condition, no chips or cracks. Beatrix Potter figurines were first made by Beswick in 1948 when they purchased the rights to ten characters. These proved to be highly collectable and, over the years, many new characters were produced with others being retired. In 1969, Beswick became part of the Royal Doulton Group and by 1989, the backstamp of these models was changed from Beswick to Royal Albert. Production of these figurines completely stopped in 2002.
