BC Highway Patrol wants to keep motorists safe on the road this winter and is reminding the public that winter tires are required on most routes in British Columbia until April 30. A winter tire must be labelled with either the letters "M" and "S", which is the minimum legal requirement (mud + snow/all-season tires) and have the 3-peaked mountain/snowflake symbol displayed. Failure to comply could result in a $109 fine.
