Woodcock No.2 made by Copeland Spode of England, preliminary back stamp research suggests as early as circa 1910-1920. This single 10-1/2” plate with woodcocks is from the Spode Upland Game Bird Set in fluted black floral trim which also featured a large turkey platter. The 12 bird designs in the set date back to the 1880s. Beautiful quality, very colourful for display or use. Undamaged and in perfect condition, this plate has no chips, cracks or repairs and still has the original rich glossy glaze, no fading or crazing.
