Victoria Inner Harbour’s first ever drone show and headliner DJ Shub, a Juno award-winning Indigenous artist, will be featured in the City of Victoria’s reimagined Canada Day on July 1. The big show will return to the Legislature lawns and Belleville Street. “This July 1, bring your family and friends to Victoria’s spectacular waterfront for an exciting, inclusive Canada Day celebration!” invited Mayor Marianne Alto. “Taste your way around the world, dance the afternoon and night away with some of Canada’s most talented musicians, be taken on Indigenous and multicultural journeys through storytelling and cultural performances, and stay for the spectacular drone and fireworks finale that will light up the night sky. Come join the festivities with friends and neighbours, new and known!” Hey Ocean, Mauvey, Posh Coat, Yvonne Kushe and the lək̓ ʷəŋən Traditional Dancers will be just some of the artists featured in a diverse showcase of powerful, live performances on the main stage. Large screens will reflect and celebrate diverse voices, from grassroots artists to cultural leaders. An International Food Village on Belleville Street will provide an array of local food trucks offering a global feast. The Family Zone on the Legislature lawns will feature a variety of kid-friendly activities hosted by the Victoria Fire Department, Victoria Bug Zoo and the Royal British Columbia Museum. Victoria’s Canada Day is presented by the City of Victoria and is produced by Rifflandia Entertainment Company. We gratefully acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia and the Government of Canada.
