Introduction to Handbuilding Clay Sundays 10:00 am - 4:00 pm - $90.00+tax This class will introduce you to the fundamental steps for handbuilding clay including: Wedging Coil building Pinch pot Slab rolling Pottery is more than mugs and bowls. This class will show you how to sculp clay as well as functional tableware. Class includes use of all tools, 10 pounds of clay and kiln firing of all the projects you make. The clay must be allowed to fully dry before firing to bisque in the kiln. It usually takes about 2 weeks for the clay to dry so you should expect that your finished project(s) will not be available to pick up for almost 3 weeks. We will contact you when they are ready. You can either take your project home after the bisque firing or come in for Open Studio and apply glaze or underglaze to be fired again in the kiln. This would also be a great class for glass artists wanting to learn how to make ceramic molds for draping, slumping or casting glass. Clay is messy. You will get dirty.
