It measures 17” square and 4” thick, very dense foam and has a 1/4” thick plywood base on the underside inside the case. It has a zipper on one side to remove the foam and board if you need to wash the case but just wiping with a cloth would work fine, it is a durable heavy black fabric. It has a carrying handle, solid well made cushion. Clean, no damage or smells. No smoking no pet home. Purchased the wrong size. “Chair cushions have backer boards to give them necessary support, help them maintain their shape, and provide a firm base for attachment and installation.
