The applicant/incumbent will be required to undergo a criminal record check in order to work in this position and to report to their supervisor if any criminal charges are laid against them that may be related to their employment in this position. Duties & Responsibilities • Lifeguard a diverse set of activities • Ensuring effective program instruction in a fun and safe manner for participants • Assists with the delivery of special events • Ensuring cleanliness of pool deck and surrounding areas. • May be required to assist with administration duties as required. • Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD. • Performs other duties as required. Qualifications • Current National Lifeguard Award – Pool Option (NL) and/or current Water Safety Instructor Award (WSI) • Current Lifesaving Society Airway Management and Oxygen (AMOA) certification required. • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C • Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and customer service skills are required. • Familiar with emergency procedures and able to respond accordingly • Knowledgeable of the aquatic facilities rules and regulations • Ability to work independently with general supervision in a relatively structured environment Applications To apply for this exciting opportunity, please submit your resume and covering letter online at www.crd.bc.ca under “Careers”.
