In excellent condition! This four seater Volvo cabriolet is completely original and qualifies for collector plates and rates. We are second owners of this car which has always been in Victoria - we bought it from the original family almost ten years ago and it has served us well. Turbocharged 5 cylinder engine (Volvo T-5) and automatic transmission. Leather heated seats, power door locks, mirrors and trunk release. A/C works well, as does the heater - new cooling system expansion tank just installed. Regularly serviced with rear brake pads and rotors redone with the last oil change in late March. - front brakes are still in good shape. - original Volvo/Dolby CD, AM/FM, cassette sound system (what’s a cassette?). - outside temperature sensor. - original option alloy rims. - Michelin tires in good shape. - replacement XeMODeX throttle system module (original systems were found to fail after about 80,000kms). The only mechanical issues we are aware of is a recently developed slowness in the passenger side window when raising and recent scan which found a code 644A camshaft control alert. A related bulletin recommends a cleaning of the VVT and to monitor. A further check of the solenoid has found high resistance as well as some play in the VVT hub. The shop is recommending a replacement of the camshaft solenoid adjuster - exhaust cam. Parts will be around $600. We don't intend to do any further work on the car, thinking that the price can be adjusted so as to reflect a couple of minor repairs to be arranged by the new owner at their favorite shop. We think there's an opportunity for the new owner to have the work done so as to benefit from any direct customer warranty.
