Dear dive friends/community, Yesterday, while at a brief snorkel at Cattle Point (Oak Bay, Victoria, BC) I left my trusty fishing cooler on the shore, only to return about 30 minutes later, to find that it was gone. This was between 12:30pm and 1:30pm on May 15, 2025. Not sure if if it was washed away by an unusual/rogue wave (though if so, it should/could still be floating around), or if a ‘Good Samaritan’ picked it up, thinking it was abandoned/forgotten. In any case, I’d love to have it back. Specifically, the cooler is pretty distinct because I modded it pretty heavily for my personal recreational needs. Furthermore, the cooler contained some of my gear. Listed below, are lists/descriptions of the items lost: The cooler: * Make/model is an Igloo (‘Playmate’/lunchobox style), I believe; blue upper/grey lower (white on the inside) * Attached to the outside are a pair of sections of green pool noodle (to make sure the cooler floats) * Mounted to the chassis are: Scotty (sup/kayak) paddle clips on either side of the cooler * A (black + day-go orange handle) fillet knife mounted to the cooler, close to handle * A nautical-orange first aid kit/box, velcro-attached to the outside * A number of silly stickers on the outside (marine life + spearfish brand ‘Salvimar’ + Star Wars references) * Go pro mount * Green bungee cord wrapped around handle The gear inside: * (black) digital camera, brand/model = OM-Systems TG-7, in black, with (yellow) wrist lanyard * (black) dive torch/flashlight, brand/model = Big Blue AL 1300 wide beam, attached to a (black) SEAC wrist-strap/mount * (black & red) dive watch, brand/model = SEAC Apnea, serial #600068 * Underwater fill light, with GoPro-style mount, * Other random items like GoPro chest harness, some orange gear straps, a black mesh bag, etc. Included are a mock-up image to give a rough idea of what the customized cooler looks like, as well as the main items inside. If found, please contact me, or drop off at the local police department (registered lost under file # 25-1217) Many thanks! Dave
