We bought the car in July 2024 from a friend who was the original owner. The car had been driven by his mother from new, spending most of its time in southern California and the odd summer in the Okanagan and therefore has had no exposure to snow and salt. The body is as new with no rust on the body or underneath the car and no damage. The interior is immaculate. The car has been meticulously maintained and includes the service history, original manuals and all original keys (two FOBs, one valet key and one key for the safe box under the seat). We purchased the car for a trip from July to October 2024 after which time we put it in under-cover storage and went home to Australia. We took it out of storage in May for another summer trip. It’s now time to head home and we won’t be returning to Canada soon, hence we’ve decided to sell the car. We have had no issues with the car. We drove it from Victoria to Calgary and back in summer and it was a dream. It’s got lots of power and is very capable on dirt roads. It had an issue with water drainage from around the sunroof. The plastic drain hoses have shrunk due to age. We sealed the sunroof with silicon and white sealing caulk tape. It doesn’t affect the performance or safety of the vehicle and has been on for over 20 years. The sensor determines the position of the steering wheel. In 2004, Mercedes recommended to the original owner to ignore the dashboard light. The SRS light is on. It doesn’t affect the performance or safety of the vehicle and has been on for many years. It came on due to the water drainage issue from the sunroof. The issue is either the pressure pad under the carpet or a blown fuse. Both could be replaced if desired. The passenger side door does not lock or unlock with keyless entry, it must be done manually.
