If you are reading this ad, the item is still for sale. Queries asking if the item is still for sale will not be answered. We've upgraded all the light fixtures on our 1912 house. Most we've just taken into Water Glass Studios and had the electrics modernized to CSA safety standards. But a couple, including this alcove lamp, were replaced with other fixtures. The fixture is tin, and may well be a shiny silver finish; we've chosen not to clean it in case a buyer prefers the patina it has accumulated over the years. The base measures seven (7) inches in diameter and three (3) inches tall. The bowl is six (6) inches in diameter. With the bowl attached, the height of the assembled piece is nine (9) inches. There's a stamped marking on the base, which reads as follows: "PAT. OCT.19.09." Again, our house is a 1912, so this fits with that construction period. The base is affixed to the ceiling or newel pose with two screws (not original, and therefore not included), and the bowl is held in place with the three original hand-turn screws, which are included. It's an elegant and simple fixture that works nicely as a ceiling lamp, and could also serve as a similarly attractive newel post lamp. The fixture works without issue, but we'd suggest you have the electrics upgraded by Waterglass or other qualified supplier if you're going to put it back into use.
