Offered for sale this, Anne Pangowish - Ojibwe - First Nations - Birch Box / Basket - Porcupine Quill Decoration - Manitoulin Island. The vintage Great Lakes, First Nations, Native, Ojibwee Quill Basket Box Manitoulin Island Anne Pangowish. The Porcupine quill basket box is made of birch bark with a sweetgrass rim. It is signed by the Manitoulin Artist, Anne Pangowish. It is a lovely fancy basket with a raised geometric star design on lid and criss-cross patterns on side. The box measures about 2.25 inches in height and has a diameter of approximately 3.25 inches. There appears to be one quill missing and two broken quills on the top of the basket. Anne Pangowish was one of several very talented Anishinaabeg (Ojibwe) quill box makers on Manitoulin Island. Shipping within Canada and the Continental United States is complimentary with purchase.
