Selling the following: 2 x Boston Acoustics CS226 Floorstanding “tower” Speakers; 1 x Boston Acoustics CS Sub10 Subwoofer. These were purchased new and have been in a pet-free home ever since. Used for home theatre and they sound incredible. The floor standing speakers include dual 6-1/2” woofers and a soft dome tweeter. The speakers are passive, which means they require an amplifier (usually a receiver) up to 250 watts (8 ohms). I used a Sony receiver rated at 85 watts for many years and it was more than enough volume for my living room. The subwoofer is active, which means it has its own amplifier and auto-turnoff with adjustment controls on the rear for room tuning. The 10” down firing woofer and 100 watt amplifier will supply powerful, precise low frequencies with your movies and music. Cherry finish on all three items. The finish is in good shape overall, but the Boston Acoustics logo broke off the front of the subwoofer. Grilles on the speakers can be removed if you prefer the look of the drivers, or they snap on easily for a more discrete aesthetic. Throw away those crumby sounding “sound bars” and invest in some legitimate speakers for entertaining your guests and family. Located in Shawnigan Lake. New lower price, OBO.
