Dreams gone by have lead me to a new boating style. I bought Seven Sundays with dreams of stepping away from my Catalina 30 into something with an aft cabin and Seven Sundays would have fit my want's perfectly! Now in a relationship I am finding less need to bring along additional friends as my friend/partner is always with me and we don’t require separate sleeping quarters :-). So we have moved toward more creature comforts and have bought sailboat with a pilot house and I can release my dream of an aft cabin sailboat. I have had Seven Sundays in my yard for several years now and have never actually sailed her let alone had her in the water. What I can tell you about 7 Sundays is her life was primarily in the great lakes and came to the West Coast in 2020. She has been under cover since then on her trailer waiting for me. I have had a mechanic fire her up and she ran well. Something that keeps people from boating is the expense and with Seven Sundays I will explain how to keep boating expenses down to less than 1,200 per year compared to the over 6,300.00 plus annual haul outs and paint I do now staying in the water. When I had my first sailboat I kept my expenses down to 200 per year doing a lot of what I will explain myself. Prices I would anticipate most people to actually pay someone else to do the work. 1. Unknown 2. 150.00 to lay down mast, I had no problem doing it myself 3. 180.00 ½ lift from West Port Marina “I just checked” 4. 250.00 totem towing or who ever you would want to hire 5. 250.00 tow boat and trailer to boat launch and launch boat and return trailer to parking 6. 200.00 re step mast 7. 100.00 trailer insurance can be avoided if towed by commercial hauler “tow truck” Total $1130.00 to have your boat on the hard with more benefits than you might think of. No need to haul out to paint as if a fair weather sailor like myself I only use my boat for 4 months of the year.
