Designed by Takeshi Nii and awarded the Good Design Award in 1965, these authentic Ny chairs are a playful twist on a Japanese modernist icon. This rare vintage pair features vibrant burnt orange cotton canvas slings, dark-stained beechwood arms, and elegantly curved chrome-plated steel frames. What makes this pair especially unique is the Yamaha Natural Sound Stereo branding—likely a special promotional edition created for a hi-fi event or marketing campaign in the 1970s. A must-have for collectors of Japanese design, audio ephemera, or standout vintage seating. Beyond their looks, these chairs are extremely comfortable, with a hammock-like seat that molds to the body. And thanks to their folding design, they’re ideal as occasional chairs—easy to stow away when not in use and perfect for smaller spaces where flexibility matters. Both chairs and matching ottomans are in good vintage condition, showing minor wear consistent with age. Effortlessly cool, highly functional, and bursting with character—this is design you won’t want to put away (but you can, if you need to). Width: 24” Depth: 29” Height: 32.5” Seat Height: 12” Free local delivery available. Worldwide shipping offered — over a decade of experience.
