An extraordinary example of mid-century Brazilian design, this rare sideboard or credenza was created by Carl Hauner and Martin Eisler for Forma, circa 1950. Crafted entirely by hand from Brazilian rosewood—also known as Jacaranda—this piece represents the pinnacle of the region’s woodworking tradition. Every detail, from the hand-cut dovetail joinery to the expertly sculpted signature legs, reflects an uncompromising commitment to craftsmanship. The cabinetry features striking, book-matched rosewood grain patterns throughout, with exceptional depth, character, and tonal contrast—showcasing the finest timbers available. Five drawers, each carved with integrated pulls, offer generous storage, complemented by sliding doors that conceal adjustable shelving behind. This piece has been impeccably cared for throughout its life and remains in outstanding condition. Recently cleaned and polished by our restoration team, it possesses a rich luster and patina that speak to both its heritage and enduring quality. An exceptional opportunity to own a historically significant and visually commanding Brazilian modernist work—seldom seen in such condition and provenance. 78 1/4” wide 17 3/4” deep 32” high Free local delivery.
