Free bantam barred cochin cockerel. Hatched April 13. He was riased by a 4-H member for me who can't keep roosters, so he is very tame and good with kids. He has side sprigs, which are extra bumps on the comb, which is a disqualification for showing, but have no effect on the bird. Due to this I don't want to keep him in my breeding program, but he would make a great pet. He colour will probably change as he gets older and his barring will become more clear. I can provide photos of his possible father's to give you an idea if requested. Bantam cochins are known for being calm birds and doing well with hens both standard and bantam. They a very fluffy so are smaller than they appear due to all the feathers. They are on the larger side of bantams. Other than a breeder in the Fraser Valley who has a barred project, there are no other bantam barred cochins in Canada West of Ontario. I do have a black bantam cochin who has the same disqualification for showing that is also available, who is the same age. They could go together as they are from the same hatch or separately.
