Use includes addressing water damage, testing sub and top floors to ensure similar % moisture content, assuring home buyers of structural integrity before purchase, and finding moisture “hot spots” to narrow down areas affected by moisture. Material use includes wood, drywall, concrete and non-wood hygroscopic building materials. The wood scale is 5% to 30% and the non-wood building materials reference scale is 0-100 color coded (for comparative, wet/dry readings.) The TechScan pinless scanner measures moisture from 3 /4” to 1-1/4” deep and can be used as a standalone tool or with Delmhorst pin-type moisture meters for further precise diagnosis.
