Sadly, the time has come to pass along a family heirloom. This 1980 XJ6 was imported to Victoria from California in 1989, and then purchased by my grandfather in 1994. At that time, the interior was completely refurbished, including the headliner, and is still in excellent condition. Currently, it has 190,000 miles. The transmission slips in 2nd gear and will need a rebuild or replacement. There are intermittent fuel injection problems (I think signal issues from the computer) and some significant body rust setting in. It has been off the road since September 2023. Runs, but will not idle at this time. I would love to bring this car back to its previous glory, but the years keep clicking by, and it only continues to deteriorate. I would like to see it go to someone who either has the time and resources to restore it, or use its salvageable parts (particularly the interior) to aid in another restoration.
