Muhle R96 ROCCA Closed Comb Stainless Steel Safety Razor, Black Handle

Received as a gift and only used twice. It is in perfect shape. Review on the Badger and Blade forum: I have had the pleasure of using my Rocca for approx 75-ish shaves now and would like to share my findings of this efficient and versatile razor. I look after my kit, but all the same I could clean this razor up and put it back in its case as new. PERFECT. It has been worldwide with me over the past few months with no issues. I like the weight, balance and size (I have shovels for hands) and even my wife thinks it looks smart. The black grip is - well - very grippy even when wet. Blades centre and load virtually perfectly every time. The thread of the top cap is perfect. ***TOP TIP*** Some creams leave a residue on the razor. Keep the razor clean! The stainless steel finish is smooth but can drag when covered in a dry film. Especially keep the bar and top cap clean- I found this to significantly reduce drag and keep the Rocca performing smoothly at its best. ***TOP TIP*** Habits: I have to shave every day for work, At the start of a shift I do a 2 pass shave (WTG and XTG) mostly I favour a single pass which gives me excellent DFS results. This is an efficient razor- bang in-between a R89 and R41. Daily shaves are fast, clean and efficient, nicks are very rare. Audible feedback is good and the razor seems to sing more when hot! ***TOP TIP*** Make a conscious decision to slow down your technique with this razor. It only adds 30 seconds to a pass but the results are spectacular and very pleasing. ***TOP TIP*** Summary: I have found my destination razor. Super versatile, durable and pleasing to use. I prefer this to the Rockwell 6c: and its versatility means it is capable of being a great daily shaver and a few day samurai slicer. Your chosen technique/blade/prep changes the feel of this razor dramatically and it is really fun to experiment. Try one- give it time and you will see how accomplished it is!
