The mattress is a Sealy Posturepedic, no need for a box spring, the frame is a beige material and comes with wood slats for support. This allows bed to be lower. Assembly is easy, rails slide onto bolts and tightened with Allen keys that will be provided. If you purchase and transport is an issue, I could deliver for a $20 fee.
