Brass Queens is a nine-piece female-led, New York-based brass band that has been dominating the brass band scene since 2019. Inspired by the soulful sounds of New Orleans, the Brass Queens’ band consists of one sousaphone, drums (both line and set), two trombones, one alto sax, one tenor sax, three trumpets and a whole lot of passion. Their songs are spiced with a wide range of musical influences including Balkan, mambo, film scores, pop, and classic rock. Becoming a fixture in the local music scene and dubbed “the hardest working band in town,” the Queens gained a dedicated following through outdoor performances on the streets of Brooklyn. In February 2021, Brass Queens released their debut EP Royal Street. In November 2023, the band released their first full-length album titled Black & Gold, and less than a year later, their second full-length album and their first album of all-original music titled Hot Tub Sessions Vol. I. Brass Queens tour regularly across the USA and internationally, including Canada, with sold-out shows and performances at various events and programs including The Met Gala, Brooklyn Bowl, Good Morning America, and Ottawa Jazz Festival. The band has developed a signature style that sits right at the intersection of the Big Apple and the Big Easy. The result is a nonstop party: a Brass Queens show will have you singing along to classic pop hits, dancing your heart out to reggaeton, and feeling like you’ve been transported to New Orleans’ Frenchman Street. They’re bringing New Orleans brass band tradition with a New York twist all the way to Victoria’s Wicket Hall this fall – get ready to dance!
