Lead Hand - Construction We need to add a new crew to our team, and need a lead hand who is knowledgeable in renovations how-to and doesn't need supervision. Looking for someone personable, who can lead junior staff members and teach them, who can work efficiently and who knows what they are doing. We have some larger jobs coming up and need to increase our numbers. We are seeking energetic & positive people to join our team. We offer a positive work environment and a healthy & safe workplace. The ideal candidate will actively engage in the work activities with consistency to the project requirements; Knows the ins and outs of renovations. Experience and know-how: we do Bathrooms and kitches, removing walls, patching and repairing walls, painting, baseboards, ceramic tiling, laying some flooring types, including ceramic, vinyl tile and laminate, handyman stuff, including putting up towel bars, custom shelving Outdoors we do: repair and rebuild stairs, siding, decks (both wood and vinyl decking), connecting to sewer. - Work as a team, everyone cleans up. - Operate and care for construction equipment and machines. - Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labour when necessary. - Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards. - Load or unload construction materials. - Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding. - Remove, fill, or compact earth. - Follow instructions from supervisors. - Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary. - Perform site clean-up. - Training will be provided for vinyl deck installation and paint finishing. - High school diploma - Ability to do physical labour and other strenuous physical tasks. - Ability to work in all weather. - Workers must be punctual and reliable. - Steel-toed boots are required Full-time hours expected, weather permitting Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00-$29.00 per hour Schedule: Monday to Friday Experience: construction: 4 years (preferred) Licence/Certification: Class 5 Licence (preferred) Work Location: In person
