Here is a unique vase. Off-line or off-balance, 'reaching to the right' is the reaction of most individuals when they see this piece. But one of the marks of any modern Japanese creation is Simplicity of Form and Line. And this vase has it 'in spades'. There is a 'chop' signature/mark impressed into the clay on the bottom of the piece. It is weighty, but very comfortable to hold as a serving dish for fruit and the like.
