A rare early table by Peter Hvidt, produced by France & Daverkosen during the formative years of Danish modern design. Crafted in solid teak with a handwoven cane lower shelf, this model stands out for its distinctive proportions, slightly taller and more architectural than later examples, allowing it to function equally well as a coffee table, end table, or low occasional table. The softly rounded top, tapered legs, and floating cane shelf demonstrate Hvidt’s mastery of balance, lightness, and material honesty. The woven shelf adds both visual texture and practical storage, while the warm teak grain anchors the design with quiet sophistication.
