This is two communication capable device .We had a plan through Garmin.The package we had and I think its standard where we get 5 free texts per month, and emergency calls free .Lent it to a friend and he made a emergency call and I was notified from a emergency centre in Texas in real time and it was awesome to see how efficient it was in real time ,In this situation I was on the phone while they we redirecting a water tanker that was near the scene in Strathcona park .But now at 60 I'm not doing much off grid ..
