Yamaha S-50A classical folk guitar (Rare 1971). $300 firm. It's value will continue to go up. This is a rare Yamaha S-50A classical acoustic guitar with a solid spruce top. 55 years old and made in the Japan Nippon Gakki factory. In 1967 when the S-50A was introduced, it was the year when Yamaha first started making classical guitars, having trained up a team of craftsmen under a Spanish master luthier. The top is spruce, back and sides katsura, neck is nato and fingerboard is bubinga. The S-50A was designed to be a dynamic guitar that can be strung with classical strings or low tension steel strings. It is internally braced to take light steel strings like a parlor guitar. The neck is narrower (1.75" nut) than typical classical guitars as well, which further makes it more of a folk guitar as well as classical. It has a warm natural tone that sounds great for folk and finger style. The guitar typically sells for about $500+ on Reverb and xBay. My price is lowed due to the many scratches showing the 55 years. No major dings or structural issues and it plays like new.
